Is Google Page Rank Dead???

If you have been in Google Webmasters Tools you will see that it isn’t there anymore. Well at least they are being honest about not having to rely on it anymore. The funny thing is that a lot of SEO’s don’t rely on it anyhow. Only time I look at it is when I am on a site I don’t know, kind of gives you a warm fuzzy feeling that they are a good site. But I think they are announcing this to further confuse us and our job.
Susan Moskwa which is a Google Webmasters Trends Analyst explains the reasoning why:
We’ve been telling people for a long time that they shouldn’t focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it’s the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true. We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it.
Great, good stuff. Let me know what you think about this announcement. I don’t really know what else to say about that.
