Are Press Releases Worth The Money

There are many mixed feelings when it comes to press releases. Some feel as if they are too pricey or others feel even worse when they spend the money and they don’t get the response from the release. I can agree with these feelings greatly.
Press releases are important to do for marketing purposes, but you will need to do them for reasons that are news worthy. A lot companies think that if they do a press release the flood gates to business are just going to come flowing in. This is again far from the truth.
You will have to do more than announce your new website or something that seems important to you and your company. Maybe if you have done some sort of charity this might help your cause in getting some traffic to your site. Or maybe you have something that is really actually newsworthy, like your company just landed the biggest client in your market.
You see, reporters aren’t out there anymore looking for stories to report on. They are going to these press releases websites and getting their information there. The last thing they need is their bosses breathing down their backs over the reporting on the release of a new website.
If it is of importance that you must annouce your new website, you will need to portray why it is that your website is important, how you are better than the competition or what the product can do for the client. Remember people read things for WIIFM (Whats in it for me).
Good luck with the press releases and drop me a line if you have any questions.
